The Activa from Honda tops scooter sales once again in January 2021, much like several months in the past and by a colossal margin that too.

To be fair, all the other scooters in the top 10 list are just fighting for the second position and it is the TVS Jupiter that has won that race, for it managed to find close to 52,000 buyers last month.

In third place sits the Suzuki Access, 45,475 units of which got sold in January, while the Honda Dio comes fourth with 28,914 unit sales.

TVS’ NTorq grabbed the fifth spot, for it fetched 27,766 sales this past month, and up next comes the Hero Pleasure that added 18,603 units more to its sales tally.

Yamaha retailed 10,504 units of the Ray ZR last month, and Hero almost found 9500 buyers for the Destini 125. The last 2 spots are occupied by the Suzuki Burgman (8743 units) and the Yamaha Fascino (8416 units).

Scooters such as the Activa (-10 percent), Access (-17 percent), Dio (-11 percent) and Fascino (-28 percent) all recorded negative growth year-on-year (YoY) this past month.

However, models like the Jupiter (34 percent) and NTorq (35 percent) registered more realistic YoY growth figures, while the Destini (2307 percent), Burgman Street (1350 percent) and Ray ZR (371 percent) posted very high growth percentages.

Total sales of the vehicles in the top 10 January 2021 scooter sales stood at 4,21,517 units, which is a decent 5 percent increase over the same period a year before.

The TVS NTorq continues to fetch good numbers every month
