Leading scooter sales in April 2021 was the Honda Activa, which once again decimated its opponents in quite spectacular fashion.
In the fight for second place, arguably the spot which every other scooter in the market has its eyes on, it was the Suzuki Access which came out on top.
Suzuki sold a total of 53,285 units of the 125cc scooter, while the TVS Jupiter’s sales literally halved in just a month’s time, with 25,570 unit sales in April.
Fourth-placed TVS NTorq too lost a big chunk when its sales figure of March and April 2021 are compared. It found close to 20,000 takers though.
Then comes the Pleasure+ from Hero MotoCorp with 18,298 unit sales, followed by the Dio, 17,269 units of which were retailed by Honda last month.
Seventh place in the April 2021 scooter sales chart was occupied by the Hero Destini 125 (9121 units), followed by the Suzuki Burgman Street (8154 units) and TVS Scooty Pep+ (8143) which were closely matched.
The final spot of the scooter sales list is occupied by the Ray, and Yamaha managed to find 7512 buyers for the vehicle.
Cumulative sales of the scooters in the list dipped by -34 percent month-on-month (MoM) and only the Access (9 percent) and Scooty Pep+ (3 percent) posted sales growth, while the rest floundered.
