Royal Enfield’s 650 Twins lead the performance bike sales chart for August 2020. But despite them being segment leaders, their sales saw a massive drop when compared to the year before.
Sixty percent of the 650 twins’ sales got lost in one year as in August 2020, the bikes collectively sold 864 units as opposed to 2172 units in August 2019.
In second place came the Harley-Davidson Street 750 with 86 unit sales, a 9 percent degrowth, followed by the Kawasaki Ninja 650, which sold 33 units.
Another Harley, there are four in the list, in the form of the Iron 883 came fourth, having sold 25 units, while the top five was rounded by Street Triple models from Triumph, recording 24 unit sales.
The bottom half of the list comprises of three Kawasaki models and they are Z650 (sixth) with 23 units, Ninja 1000 selling the same 23 units as the smaller model and the Versys 650, which occupies the ninth slot with 18 units.
The final place is occupied by the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy in the above 500cc performance bike sales August 2020 list. It was also the model to record the second highest growth (325 percent) year-over-year, trailing the Z650 (360 percent).
Other models like the Versys 650 and Ninja 650 also recorded three digit growth, but that was not enough to help the overall sales that had tanked by a massive 44 percent this August.
