In July 2021, compact SUV sales boomed, posting a 146 percent growth over the same period last year

Compact SUV sales in July 2021 were mighty impressive and it was once again the Maruti Vitara Brezza which occupied the top position in its class.
Maruti retailed 12,676 units of its popular compact SUV which is set to be replaced come 2022. During the same period, Tata sold 10,287 units of the Nexon.
Then came the Venue from Hyundai, 8185 units of which were retailed by the South Korean firm. It was followed by the Kia Sonet which had 7675 unit sales last month.
Fifth place in the July 2021 compact SUV sales chart was occupied by the XUV300 from Mahindra. The car with a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating found 6027 new buyers.
Nissan was able to sell 4073 units of its Magnite this past month, while Renault retailed 3557 units of the Kiger. Further, Mahindra delivered 3203 units of the Thar in July.
In the last 3 positions came the Toyota Urban Cruiser (2448 units), Ford EcoSport (1635 units) and Honda WR-V (708 units).
Of the vehicles featured in the list, only the EcoSport (-33 percent) and WR-V (-3 percent) posted year-on-year (YoY) sales degrowth.
Total sales of the compact SUVs in July 2021 stood at 60,474 units. Thanks to 5 vehicles which have yet to complete a year, the YoY growth of the cars stood at a mega 146 percent.
