The 200-500cc bike sales list for August 2020 is led by Royal Enfield’s Classic 350 by a massive margin as it registered about four times more sales than the next product in line.
Royal Enfield sold 34,791 units of its famous cruiser, which was a 48 percent growth over the same period last year. In second place came the Pulsar 180 and NS 200 duo from Bajaj, having sold 8374 units, a degrowth of 27 percent year-over-year (YoY).
Two more Royal Enfields in the form of Bullet 350 (third, 7257 units) and Bullet Electra (Fifth, 4129 units) occupied a spot in the top five of the 200-500cc bike sales August 2020 list, while the Pulsar 220 from Bajaj got sandwiched between them at fourth place with 5558 units.
In sixth place was the KTM Duke 200, the Austrian bikemaker having sold 2992 units of the bike, a solid 40 percent growth, followed by Yamaha’s FZ 25 that was taken home by 1736 people, a 112 percent hike in sales.
Another KTM to feature in the list was the Duke 250 at eighth spot. The quarter-litre motorcycle sold 1391 units, a 135 percent sales growth, followed by the Dominar 250 and Hero Xpulse 200, both selling 1317 units in August 2020.
Solid growth was witnessed by the Duke 250 (135 percent), FZ 25 (112 percent), Classic 350 (48 percent) and Duke 200 (40 percent). Degrowth was recorded by Bullet 350 (-39 percent), duo of Pulsar 180 and NS 200 (-27 percent) and finally, Bullet Electra at -17 percent.
Overall sales grew by a respectable 12 percent given the situation, with the bikes in the list recording a total of 68,862 unit sales in the past month.
