The Bajaj Pulsar clinches the coveted number 1 position from the TVS Apache in the top-selling 150cc bikes chart.
The month of July 2017 witnessed the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) due to which prices for 2-wheelers below 350cc saw a slight reduction. This indeed did motivate the Indian buyer to not delay his/her 2-wheeler purchase anymore and thereby save a few thousand rupees due to the reduction in rates of taxes for 2-wheelers under the 350cc segment.
Until last month we’ve seen the TVS Apache at the helm of the top-selling 150cc charts but this time it is the Bajaj Pulsar 150 that sits at the number 1 spot, selling just over 3300 units more than the TVS Apache. The Bajaj Pulsar 150 sold 33,908 units in July 2017 while the TVS Apache sold 30,593 units.
The Honda CB Unicorn 150, Yamaha FZ and Honda CB Hornet 160R retain their third, fourth and fifth spots respectively. The Honda CB Unicorn 150 sold 18,640 units while the Yamaha FZ and Honda CB Hornet 160R sold 16,696 and 13,724 units respectively.
The Bajaj V15 moved a spot up while the Hero Achiever moved a spot down. The V15 sold 8001 units followed by the Hero Achiever that sold 6159 units. The Bajaj Avenger sits at the eighth spot selling 5466 units in July 2017. Among the other motorcycles in the list, the Avenger 150 is the only bike that has recorded a growth of almost 80 percent in its sales. The Suzuki Gixxer and the Honda CB Unicorn 160 sold 4495 and 3737 units respectively in the month of July.
