TVS Apache leads the 150cc bike sales in August 2020 by a decent margin from second-placed Bajaj Pulsar 150 that had a tough outing this time around.
The bestseller saw 33,540 units get sold in August as opposed to 26,402 units during the same period last year, which results in a year-over-year (YoY) growth of 27 percent.
Bajaj managed to shift 29,777 units of the Pulsar 150 out of its showrooms, a degrowth of 10 percent, while closely following the Pulsar was the Unicorn from Honda that saw 29,441 units get taken by customers.
In fourth, fifth and sixth places sit the Yamaha FZ (17,868 units), Hero Xtreme 160R (12,037) and Honda X-Blade (5557) respectively.
They were followed by the R15 (5464) and MT-15 (4149) from Yamaha, while the last two spots were occupied by two Suzukis namely the Gixxer and Intruder.
While the Gixxer sold 2817 times over, a 38 percent drop in sales YoY, the Intruder’s sales were up by 192 percent having sold 216 units. It was also the one with the highest growth in 150cc bike sales August 2020 list.
Other motorcycles that witnessed three digit growth are the Yamaha MT-15 (185 percent) and Honda X-Blade (118 percent).
Highest degrowth was recorded by the Gixxer (-38 percent), followed by the Pulsar 150 (-10 percent) and the R15 from Yamaha at -9 percent.
Overall sales grew by 57 percent, recording close to 1.41 lakh motorcycles, while last year’s sales of the bikes in the list did not cross 90,000 units.
