The top 25 selling bikes list for the month of April 2018 witnesses the Honda Activa regain the coveted number 1 spot.
The Hero Splendor reclaimed its first spot in the top 25 selling bikes list of March 2018 but not anymore. Its prime rival, the Honda Activa, has jumped to the first spot again in the top 25 selling bikes list of April 2018 by registering sales of over 3.3 lakh units during the month. Meanwhile, the Hero Splendor clocked sales of 2,66,067 units in April 2018. Overall, the two-wheeler industry has seen a growth in the month of April compared to the March figures and that’s quite a start for the first month in the FY.
Starting off with Suzuki, the Japanese auto giant sold 3726 and 3636 units of the Intruder and Gixxer respectively. Meanwhile, the Let’s and Hayate managed to sell 849 and 658 units respectively. Yamaha managed to sell 2444, 3796, 1908 and 12,784 units of the Alpha, SZ, FZ25 and Ray respectively. The recently launched R3 managed to find 88 homes in April 2018. Royal Enfield sold a total of 74,627 2-wheelers with a major chunk of that coming from the Classic 350 alone. The Thunderbird 350 and 500 sold 3772 and 409 units respectively while the Bullet 350 and the Himalayan registered sales of 10,798 and 1029 units respectively.
Bajaj Auto saw a growth of over 26% in the April 2018 sales. The homegrown automaker sold 2,00,742 units in April as opposed to 1,58,984 units in March. The Discover series managed to sell 17,240 units while the V12 and V15 sold 321 and 4040 units in April 2018. Bajaj’s flagship bike, the Dominar 400, sold 1373 units. TVS XL Super and the Jupiter continue to rake in the volumes for the company. The recently launched NTORQ 125 has been received well too while the Scooty Zest, Scooty Pep+, Wego, Victor and the Star City registered sales of 5564, 8918, 2360, 8864 and 13,866 units respectively. The Apache RR 310 sold 862 units in April 2018.
With its large scooter line-up, Honda has managed to sell over 6.3 lakh 2-wheelers in April 2018. The CLIQ and Navi sold 3748 and 75 units respectively while the CB Unicorn 160 sold 2065 units and the CB Hornet 160R managed to find 7728 homes. The newly-launched Honda X-Blade sold 11,527 units. Except the HF Dawn, Achiever and the Xtreme, all other bikes and scooters from Hero’s portfolio can be found in the list above.
