Except for a few products, the rest registered sales growth

The 2-wheeler that topped all of its peers in terms of sales in January 2021 was the Honda Activa which recorded a massive figure of 2.11 lakh units.

Interestingly, the Activa did even better during the same period a year before, for it recorded a 10 percent degrowth year-on-year (YoY).

Hero sold 1.88 lakh units of the Splendor in January, almost equalling the sales figure of January 2020. If we add the Super Splendor’s 37,225 units, it would actually be the Splendor range that leads sales with over 2.25 lakh units.

Honda’s Shine once again occupied the fourth position (1.16 lakh units), behind the Hero HF Deluxe (1.34 lakh units), and witnessed a strong 74 percent YoY growth.

Two 2-wheelers from TVS come in at fifth and sixth and they are the XL 100 (59,007 units) and the Jupiter (51,952 units), followed by the Bajaj Pulsar 125 (47,080 units) which is steadily gaining numbers every month.

In eighth place sits the Suzuki Access 125 with 45,475 units, ninth place was taken by the Hero Passion (43,162 units) and the tenth position by the Royal Enfield Classic 350, 40,872 units of which were retailed last month.

Occupying the next 10 slots of the January 2021 2-wheeler sales chart, products like the TVS Apache series (28,456 units), TVS NTorq (27,766 units) and Yamaha FZ (21,496 units), all managed to record good sales growth.

But, vehicles like the Honda Dio (29,914 units), Bajaj Platina (27,131 units), Hero Glamour (22,681 units) and Bajaj CT 100 (19,635 units) witnessed a drop in sales in comparison with January 2020.

However, all the products occupying the last 5 positions in the sales chart, like the Hero Pleasure (18,603 units), Bajaj Pulsar 180 and 200 NS (11,730 units), Royal Enfield Bullet 350 (11,570 units), Yamaha Ray (10,504 units) and TVS Radeon (9857 units) registered strong or massive growth figures.
