The sales figures of two-wheelers witness drastic changes compared to September and even the same period last year. Yamaha Ray sales are increasing while the Hero Maestro shows negative growth.
There has been a shuffle in the position of top 20 sales of bikes compared to September 2016. The Hero Splendor snatches the first spot back from the Honda Activa with just about 4000 units difference. The TVS XL Super moped has also jumped straight from its 7th position in September to 4th in October.
Now the top three gainers in October 2016 compared to October 2015 include the Yamaha Ray, Hero Duet and Bajaj Platina with 194%, 93% and 60% growth respectively. While the top three negative growth products include the Bajaj CT 100, Hero Maestro and Hero Pleasure with 36%, 32% and 24% respectively.
In October 2016, 25 percent of the top 20 bikes sales saw negative growth compared to the previous year while the rest showed positive growth, most of them in double digits. However, the month of September 2016 witnessed more volumes, which was the peak of the festive season in the Indian automotive market.
