Top 10 Selling Cars In India In April 2015

The sales numbers of the month of April 2015 are finally out and Maruti Suzuki continues to top the charts like always. The Amaze has left the top 10 list.

Maruti always reigns the top 10 list every month

As expected, the Alto tops the list yet again and it has emerged to be the top most selling car in the country for a very long time. The Alto sold in fewer numbers as compared to March but yes its sales did cross 20,000 units. While the second position was usually held by the Maruti DZire until a couple of months back, its younger sibling, i.e. the Swift managed to dethrone the DZire and came up to second position. No worries, because the DZire is just marginally behind the Swift in sales and it comes in at third position. Maruti sure knows how to dominate the top 10 list.

The fourth position is again held by a Maruti. The Wagon R sells in good numbers thanks to its low cost of running (CNG) and high amount of practicality. After the top 4 positions that are usually held by Maruti, then enters its arch Korean rival Hyundai. The Elite i20 premium hatchback stands at fifth position. The sixth position is again held by a Hyundai and it is the Grand i10. It is quite amusing to see when pricier vehicles out do their relatively cheaper counterparts in sales, just because they excel at providing more bang for your buck. The Honda City comes in at seventh position and it is the undisputed leader in its segment.

Hyundai again comes in at eighth position with the Eon small car. We must say that the Eon didn’t really sell as high as it should have had but nonetheless it is still performing decently for Hyundai. The Maruti Celerio has moved up from the tenth position to the ninth position vis-a-vis March. The Honda Amaze has inconsistent sales every month and this time it has moved out of the top 10 list despite it being at number eight in March (with 8128 units sold). The Amaze has been attacked by its rival the Hyundai Xcent which has entered the list at tenth position.
