While Maruti and Hyundai dominate the top 10 selling cars in August 2016 list, automakers like Renault have also upped their game.
After a really long time, there have been massive changes to the list of the top 10 selling cars in India. While the Maruti Alto continues to remain the highest selling car in India, the Swift DZire has taken a massive hit in sales and has fallen to 5th position. However, these numbers do not include the Swift DZire Tour’s sales. Meanwhile, the Wagon R and Swift are now at 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
The Hyundai Grand i10 is at 4th position while the Elite i20 stands at 6th place. The Grand i10 and Swift are getting good numbers despite being a few years old. The upcoming Grand i10 facelift will boost sales even more. The Renault Kwid has now got awesome traction and sales have crossed the 10,000 units mark which is brilliant.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza is leading the compact SUV segment while the Hyundai Creta isn’t far behind. The Maruti Baleno is lagging behind the Elite i20 and is the second highest selling premium hatchback in India. It is good to see that a lot of significant changes have taken place in sales numbers this time.
