The Honda Activa widens its lead against the Hero Splendor, as it still continues to reign supreme over the two-wheeler segment. The Splendor has suffered a downfall in sales and sits at the 2nd position.
The Honda Activa had come on top in April’s sales charts, and little seems to have changed since then as most two-wheelers maintain their standing in the top 10 list. The Activa has gone and increased its lead against the Hero Splendor. The Activa saw a marginal growth of 1.45% in its sales figures, while the Splendor recorded a fall of 7.68%, which has widened the gap between the 1st and 2nd positions which were closely contended in the month of April 2016.
Hero still dominates the top 10 sales chart with four of its models featuring on it. The 3rd and 4th positions are held by the Hero HF Deluxe and Hero Passion respectively. However, both motorcycles have recorded a fall in their sales figures. The HF Deluxe saw a fall of 3.68%, and the Passion saw a marginal decrease of 1.11%.
On 5th position, we have the TVS XL Super which has seen the highest gains (12.47%) in its sales. On the 6th position, we have another Hero product, the Glamour which also registers a growth of 11.74%, and is the only Hero product in the list to register a growth in its sales. The Honda CB Shine has traded places with the Bajaj CT, and comes in at number 7. The CB Shine has recorded a growth of 7.71%, while the Bajaj CT, in 8th position has recorded the highest fall, of 21.86%.
The Bajaj Pulsar which saw the highest growth in April, seems to have slowed down a fair bit, as it recorded a fall of 8.16% last month. On last place, we have the TVS Jupiter, which seems to have recovered after being the highest loser in April, and recorded a gain of 1.41%. Overall, the market seems to have stayed more or less stagnant in the month of May. This may have been due to the approaching festive season which may have caused people to put off sales for the auspicious occasion.
