The market sentiment seems positive as most of the manufacturers should be satisfied with the huge sales only in the month of September
Festive season is here and this is the time when you and me go out to buy our new vehicles. Since our market is inclined towards two-wheelers and there is always a fight for top position of which brand sold the most of its popular sub-brands. We have a list for you to tell who is leading the charts this September as this month is that time of the year, when a huge bulk of sales come in.
Top 10 Selling 2-Wheelers In India In September 2014 –
* Hero Splendor – 2,34,844 units
* Honda Activa – 2,10,797 units
* Hero Passion – 1,07,239 units
* Hero HF Deluxe – 1,04,250 units
* Honda CB Shine – 77,644 units
* Bajaj Discover – 72,618 units
* TVS Moped – 72,372 units
* Dream Series – 71,043 units
* Bajaj Pulsar – 68,706 units
* Hero Glamour – 51,831 units
As you can see the numbers above, it is the Hero Splendor with more than five variants under the brand and one with a 125cc engine continues to rule the market and which helps Hero lead the charts this festival season again. Second in position is India’s favourite scooter (obviously) Activa, which continues to strengthen Honda’s portfolio in India as it marks Honda clearly a major scooter player in the industry. Hero and Honda dominated the first five positions in India with their commuter offerings and up next is Bajaj with their Discover, which has seen a significant growth ever since the Discover 150F/S has been launched.
Over 50,000 units sold in the last three months, which makes it jump from the ninth spot to sixth spot as it sells 23,000 units more since last month. Dream series is doing quite well for Honda but not as expected as cult brands like Passion and HF Deluxe make it hard for it to reach where it really wants to go. Pulsar continues to go hard and strong since its inception till date and is expected to grow even more as four models are ready for launch in this particular year or maybe this financial year.
Overall, everybody seems satisfied with the sales this month as festival month continues to make cash register ringing. As there is one more month to go to record same amount of sales and then the normal sale numbers will continue to come which should mark a good back for the auto industry in the two-wheeler segment as new models from every manufacturer is stated to be launched within the next three months.
