Leading the batch of least-selling 2-wheelers in November 2020 was the TVS iQube electric scooter, which managed to attract only 99 buyers over the course of last month.
Not far behind sits the Suzuki Intruder, 185 units of which were retailed by the Japanese manufacturer in November.
The Bajaj Chetak was picked only by 264 riders, clearly indicating that electric vehicle technology and infrastructure need to improve for sales to rise.
Next up is the Apache RR 310 from TVS. The flagship motorcycle of the homegrown manufacturer was only chosen by 281 people in the previous month.
Yamaha’s FZ25 is the sole product from the Japanese manufacturer in the list of shame, as it recorded 283 unit sales. Another quarter-litre Japanese bike, but from Suzuki, the Gixxer 250 saw 427 units get retailed in November 2020.
Once again, the Husqvarna 250 twins feature in the least-selling 2-wheelers list, having collectively sold 485 units. KTM’s pocket-rocket, the Duke 390, though, did slightly better, raking in close to 600 unit sales in November 2020.
However, the Bajaj Dominar twins could do even better, as each recorded over 800 unit sales.
Interestingly, customers preferred the Dominar 400 over the 250, for the variant with the bigger displacement fetched 856 unit sales to the quarter-litre product’s 835.
It goes without saying that electric 2-wheelers have room to grow as the technology and infrastructure evolve with time. Similarly, the premium commuter segment too has been steadily growing as premiumisation of products continues.
