The third generation Ford Endeavour will be launched in India soon and the company’s official website has now started showcasing the vehicle.
Ford India announced today that the new Endeavour will be launched here after the Figo hatchback and the launch will take place in this fiscal itself. We are expecting the company to launch its new SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo. Ford’s Indian website has now started showing the Endeavour. While the website doesn’t reveal much details about the car, it does state that the SUV is meant for tackling sand, snow, rocks, mountains, tracks and so on. The website also states that despite being so huge, the Endeavour is effortless to park thanks to the Semi Auto Parallel Park Assist system.
The 2016 Ford Endeavour looks very tough and rugged and the styling of the vehicle is just perfect. Ford designers haven’t gone overboard with the vehicle’s design unlike Toyota and Mitsubishi. The SUV will be offered with two diesel engines – 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre. However, the website only states the 3.2-litre engine as of now. The motor produces 190 HP of power and 470 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The smaller engine produces 158 HP of power and 385 Nm of torque. Ford will also offer a 6-speed manual transmission in India.
The Ford Endeavour will get both 2WD and 4WD options. The vehicle is loaded with a lot of tech. The SUV market in India is ruled by the Toyota Fortuner and other products like the SsangYong Rexton, Hyundai Santa Fe and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport just can’t match it in sales. The Ford Endeavour might just turn out to be a game-changer if priced well because the current generation Fortuner is already very expensive and the new one will be even more pricier. Ford seems to have a winner on their hands if they get their marketing and pricing right.
