The next generation Chevrolet TrailBlazer is expected to make its global debut in 2016 itself and the new SUV will reach the Indian shores immediately after the global launch.

Chevrolet is reported to launch the third generation TrailBlazer in the current fiscal year along with some cosmetic updates and added features while the powertrain is expected to remain unchanged. Immediately after the global launch, it will come to the Indian market and the new SUV is expected to be priced at a little premium. Since the vehicle will be brought down as a CBU, it will be launched in India quickly.
The next-gen Chevrolet TrailBlazer is expected to go under a a number of cosmetic changes and will be equipped with some new features. The overall body style of the SUV is expected to be retained but with a more modern touch, however no official news are out yet. The changes in the SUV will also be carried forward to the Colorado pickup.
Under the hood, the current generation Chevrolet TrailBlazer is powered by a 2.8-litre DURAMAX engine belting out 200 HP of power and 500 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission and the third generation of the SUV is expected to come with the same motor. Safety features include ABS, EBD, Panic Brake Assist, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control.
The interiors of the Chevrolet TrailBlazer are very neatly laid out and it gets a beige and black combination. The dashboard has a twin-pod instrument cluster and the equipment list consists of 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat, 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with SmartLink, climate control, multi-function steering wheel, reverse parking sensors with camera, electrically foldable ORVMs, etc.
The current generation TrailBlazer was launched globally in 2012 while the Indian launch took place in October 2015 and it was expected to perform well as it is the biggest car in its segment, with the ground clearance also being the highest. The SUV also comes equipped with a lot of features but Indian buyers do not seem to be impressed by the SUV as it was not able to sell even a single unit in December. The current generation Chevrolet TrailBlazer is priced at Rs. 26.4 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
