American automaker Tesla has finally revealed the Model X, which looks very promising and also boasts of excellent performance.
Tesla is always known to come up with some really mind-blowing electric vehicles and the Model S has been extremely successful in the United States. The company has now revealed the new Model X SUV and they claim that it is the fastest SUV in the world. On the looks front, the Model X seems very futuristic inside out. The front fascia of the SUV gets a very small grille while the side profile gets a swooping design that looks very pleasant. The short rear end looks cool as well with the nicely-designed tail lamps and the boot lid.
The Model X is a proper 7-seater SUV. The layout of the interiors seems to be good and the dashboard carries a nice design. The centre console houses a screen which is a bit too big though. Otherwise, the design is brilliant. The seats seem to be designed for providing superior comfort and the vehicle also boasts of butterfly doors. The Model X comes with Active Safety that constantly monitors the surroundings with the help of cameras and the vehicle can apply brakes on its own in an emergency to avoid a collision.
The Model X also gets a medical grade HEPA filter that keeps the entire vehicle pretty much pollution-free. It filters out pollen, bacteria and viruses from the cabin. The vehicle also boasts of the largest production windshield found in a car. The vehicle is offered in two interior layouts – six-seater and seven-seater. The car also comes with four LATCH child seat attachments. There is an automatic keyless entry system on offer which senses you when you’re walking towards the car and automatically opens the doors for you.
Some other features include – automatically deploying rear spoiler, maps and navigation, DRLs, power-folding and heated ORVMs, front boot with space for luggage, strollers and golf bags, 8 years unlimited kms warranty on the battery and drive unit, GPS enabled HomeLink, parking sensors and blind-spot warning. The vehicle is offered in two trims – 90D and P90D. In the 90D trim, the Model X does 411 kms on a single charge while it accelerates from 0-100 km/hr in 4.8 seconds. There is 259 HP of front and rear motor power and top speed is limited to 250 km/hr.
In the P90D trim, the Tesla Model X comes with 259 HP of power at the front and 503 HP at the rear. It has a range of 400 kms on a single charge and top speed is limited to 250 km/hr. It accelerates from 0 km/hr to the ton in 3.8 seconds on normal mode and 3.2 seconds with the Ludicrous Speed Upgrade pack. The vehicle has a floor-mounted battery which lowers the centre of gravity by a huge margin. Bookings for the Model X are open and if booked now, then the vehicle will be delivered by the second half of 2016.
