Tata Motors is all geared up to launch its most anticipated product in a long time the Zest compact sedan later this year (first half of June as per our sources), and now the company has gone live with a dedicated website for the Zest. The website welcomes you to know about what the compact sedan is all about and what to expect when the vehicle is launched. Based on the enhanced X1 platform, the Zest has been designed to offer a state-of-the-art product with segment leading features.
The Tata Zest measures 3995 mm in length, 1695 mm in width and 1570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2470 mm. The compact sedan comes with a young and pleasant design from Tata Motors. The design looks compact yet proportionate and gives a sporty appearance to the car. Tata has loaded the Zest with an extensive features list. You get EPAS with active return function and speed sensitive power steering; both are a first in the segment and have been developed by ZF.
Connectivity has also been given special emphasis and the Tata Zest features a Harman infotainment system as well as MaymyIndia navigation. The one-touch 5-inch touchscreen system control supports the multimedia system, advanced Bluetooth technology, smart voice recognition, advanced smartphone integration, supporting phone enabled navigation, social media integration, touch phone controlled interface as well as the air-con unit.
The Tata Zest compact sedan gets the all-new 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine capable of producing 85 PS at 5000 RPM and 140 Nm of torque at 1750 RPM. The 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel engine on the other hand makes 90 PS at 4000 RPM and 200 Nm of torque at 1750 RPM. The diesel engine will also get the F-Tronic Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), a first in the segment, while both the engines will also be mated to a 5-speed manual. You also get 3 different modes to drive the Zest namely Cruise, Comfort and Sports mode; certainly a segment first feature.
Tata Motors has also come ages ahead with the fit and finish on the Zest. The 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel looks and feels premium and so does the overall dashboard layout. Tata also says that car has been worked upon to emit minimum road and engine noise into the cabin. We do think that Tata surely has an ace up its sleeve this time with a number of segment first features and improved levels of quality on offer. While the website talks about the technical specs and features, the pricing and launch date have still not been disclosed. You can check out the website HERE.
