Tata Motors has filed for the trademark of three new titles namely Taureo, Epiq and Spyk, to be used for its upcoming products.
These names might be used on the firm’s upcoming sedan, midsize SUV (Hyundai Creta rival) and MPV.
It is well known that the firm is getting ready to launch a wide range of products, including the ones mentioned above. In all, it is expected that as many as 14 new models might get launched and they will be based on the ALFA and OMEGA platforms.
The launch timeline of the firm’s new sedan, midsize SUV and MPV are not known. But, what is known is that the MPV will replace the Hexa, will be built on the OMEGA platform and the Tata Taureo trademark might be for it.
It will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine and rival the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Mahindra Marazzo, and would look to poach some buyers headed to Toyota showrooms to purchase the Innova Crysta.
It is said that Tata is working on a 1.5-litre petrol engine which might find its way under the bonnets of its upcoming sedan and midsize SUV that are set to be based on the ALFA platform.
Further, reports state that the next generation Tiago, Tigor and Nexon are already being planned at the moment.
In the near future, Tata will launch the Gravitas 7-seater SUV (by March next year), while the HBX micro SUV is expected to arrive within the same year.
