Tata Tigor XM iCNG is cheaper than XZ iCNG by Rs. 50,000/-, gets Harman infotainment system
Tata Motors has launched a new XM iCNG variant for the Tigor compact sedan for a price tag of Rs. 7,39,900/- (ex-showroom, New Delhi). This new model is, now, the entry-level variant of the Tigor iCNG range.
Introduced for the first time earlier this year, the iCNG models of Tata Motors have proved to be tough competitors to Maruti Suzuki’s CNG cars. The now-launched variant has a host of safety and convenience features.
Some of them are Harman infotainment system with 4 speakers, power windows, central locking, and rear parking sensors. Further, the new variant is available in Opal White, Daytona Grey, Arizona Blue, and Deep Red color options.
As far as exterior is concerned, the car looks the same as the petrol XM variant. There’s an iCNG badge on the tailgate. Due to the presence of the CNG tank, the boot space is reduced to 205 litres from the petrol version’s 419 litres.
The highlights on the outside include 14-inch steel wheels, projector headlamps, LED tail-lights, and Piano Black finish on the ORVMs.
Power comes from the same 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine churns out 86 HP and 113 Nm in petrol model while, in CNG mode, the figures are reduced to 73 HP and 95 Nm. The ARAI rated CNG fuel efficiency is 26.49 km/kg.
The company said that, currently, more than 75 percent of the customer bookings of the Tigor are from the iCNG variants. For reference, the Tigor is the second largest selling compact sedan in the country with a market share of 21 percent in its segment.
Also, the Tigor is the only sedan in India available in petrol, electric, and CNG options in both manual as well as automatic transmissions.
