Tata joins hands with Zoomcar to include an electric variant of the Tigor in the self-drive service.
Tata Motors and Zoomcar have announced the launch of the Tata Tigor EV in the self-drive car rental portal’s service. A ceremony was held in Pune wherein Mr. Greg Moran, co-founder and CEO of Zoomcar along with Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President— Electric Mobility Business & Corporate Strategy for Tata flagged-off the first batch of the Tigor EV from a showroom in Baner.
Greg Moran also shared his word saying that Zoomcar is thrilled to partner with Tata Motors to bring electric vehicles into service. He also stated that Zoomcar expects to touch twenty cities with five hundred electric cars in the coming year.The Tata Tigor EV is currently available as a rental on Zoomcar in Pune itself.
The Tigor EV comes with an EV badge on the grille and it weighs 1156 kgs. It has a 3 phase electric motor that makes 40 HP at 55 km/hr and 16 HP at 45 km/hr. It has a claimed top speed of 135 km/hr.
