The future of electric mobility is here with the introduction of Tata Tigor EV.
The race to the electric future is on a competitive stage where all the carmakers are pushing hard to introduce their electric vehicles. Be it two-wheeler manufactures or carmakers, you name the brand and they’re preparing to launch an EV right now for the Indian market.
One of the biggest players betting high on EVs is our very own Indian carmaker Tata Motors. The auto giant has finally introduced the much awaited Tigor EV. The electric version of the Tigor is priced from Rs. 9.99 lakhs for the XM trim and Rs. 10.09 lakhs for the XT (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
The Tigor EV is only available for the fleet operators currently. It will be available for private buyers soon. Thanks to the FAME II scheme of the government, the Tigor EV gets Rs. 1.62 lakhs subsidy.
It is available in white, blue and silver colour options. Powering the Tigor EV is a 72 V 3-Phase AC Induction Motor that produces 30 kW (41 PS) and 105 Nm of torque. It comes with a 16.2 kWh battery capacity. The Tigor EV does 0-60 km/hr in 12 seconds.
0-80 percent of normal charging takes 6 hrs while fast charging for 0-80 percent with 15 kW charger takes 90 mins. The Tigor EV can hit a top speed of 80 km/hr and has a certified full charge range of 142 km.
