The Tata Tiago XTA variant has been launched, priced at Rs. 4.79 lakhs.
Tata has launched the XTA variant of the Tiago (which comes with an AMT gearbox) and has priced it at Rs. 4.79 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Until now, the Tata Tiago AMT was available only in the top XZA trim but with the addition of the XTA variant, Tata has not only expanded the Tiago portfolio but also has made the Tiago AMT more affordable.
There aren’t any mechanical changes to the engine though, the Tiago continues to be powered by the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 85 HP of power at 6000 RPM and 114 Nm of torque at 3500 RPM. The AMT is a 5-speed unit that has Automatic (Drive), Neutral, Reverse and Manual modes. The AMT gearbox also gets a creep function (the car starts to move slowly once you take your foot off the brake pedal) seen earlier on the XZ variant.
Meanwhile, the XTA variant misses out on some features like alloy wheels, front fog lamps, ORVM mounted turn indicators, rear wiper and defogger, steering mounted controls and ABS with EBD.
