Tata Motors has achieved 4 lakh production milestone for its entry-level hatchback Tiago
The Sanand plant of Tata Motors has achieved a new production milestone wherein the production of the brand’s entry-level hatchback, Tiago has touched 4 lakh units. The company has also launched #Tiago4ever campaign to celebrate the achievement with its employees and customers across all Tata Motors’ offices, plants, and customer touch points.
Launched in 2016, the Tiago was Tata’s attempt to take a pie out of Maruti Suzuki’s dominance in the entry-level segment after its own Nano failed to create an impact owing to multiple reasons. The biggest advantage Tiago brought to the table is its cabin space and turbo charged engine options.
Currently, Tiago, in its BS6 avatar, is part of Tata’s ‘New Forever Range’ featuring the brand’s Impact Design Philosophy. As of now, there are 2 models on offer – Tiago and Tiago NRG spanning 14 variants. It’s also part of Tata’s another strategy, ‘Turnaround 2.0’ taking up a sizeable market share in the most crowded A-segment.
Another interesting fact is that 60 percent of Tiago’s of sales come from first-time buyers and it commands a market share of 19 percent in its segment. It holds 4-star Global NCAP rating, a first for an A-segment car in India.
The Tiago’s features on offer include dual airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Corner Stability Control (CSC) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and rear parking assist.
