Tata Tiago EV is the most affordable electric car in India currently
Tata Tiago electric launched in India with a starting price of Rs. 8.49 lakhs (ex-showroom and introductory). This pricing makes it the most affordable four-wheeler EV. This intro price will be applicable for the first 10,000 customers of which 2000 will be reserved for the current owners of Nexon EV and Tigor EV.
Bookings will commence on 10th October while deliveries will start from January 2023. Booking amount is Rs. 21,000/- and it can be booked across all Tata Motors dealerships and the official website.
The electric Tiago is available in two battery packs. 24 kWh battery pack, offering a Modified Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC) range of 315 km and a 19.2 kWh battery pack, delivering an estimated MIDC range of 250 km. Battery and motor will come with 8 years or 1,60,000 km of warranty. Vehicle warranty is 3 years or 1,25,000 km.
It has four different charging solutions – 15A plug point, standard 3.3 kW AC charger, 7.2 kW AC home fast charger which can add 35 km range in 30 min of charging, charges 10% – 100% in 3 hr 36 mins and finally DC fast charging which can add 110 km of range in 30 min of charging and can charge 10%- 80% in 57 mins. Tata Motors is providing two charger options with the car – 3.3 kW AC and 7.2 kW AC.
The long range 24 kWh variant is powered by a 74 HP (55 kW) electric motor with 114 Nm of torque. Does 0-60 km/hr in 5.7 seconds. The medium range 19.2 kWh variant is powered by a 60 HP (45 kW) electric motor with 110 Nm torque. It does 0-60 km/hr in 6.2 seconds. It comes with two driving modes – City and Sport. It offers three regen settings.
Here are the colour options – Teal Blue, Daytona Grey, Pristine White, Midnight Plum and Tropical Mist.
The electric Tiago comes with ZConnect app that offers 45 connected car features including Remote AC ON/OFF with temperature setting, Remote geo fencing & car location tracking, Smart watch connectivity, Remote vehicle health diagnostics, Real-time charge status, Dynamic charger locator, Driving Style analytics, etc.
It gets 8-speaker Harman infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Other highlights include leatherette seats, contrast roof, fully automatic climate control, projector headlamps, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, auto head lamps, electric ORVMs with auto fold, push button start/stop, puncture repair kit, etc.
