Tata Tiago bookings crosses 50,000 since launch. The small hatchback is doing good in the market and consistently clocking 5000 units a month.
Tata Motors seem to have struck the right cord with the Indian buyers. The latest car from the Tata stable the Tiago has been going strong in the market. The hatchback has managed to impress the buyers with its new styling and features which is evident by the fact that the bookings have crossed 50,000 units since its launch in the market.
The Tata Tiago was launched with three-cylinder petrol and diesel engine options paired to 5-speed manual transmissions. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre all-aluminium Revotron unit which develops 85 PS and 114 Nm of torque whereas the 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine churns out 70 PS and 140 Nm of torque. Tata has confirmed that they are working on an AMT model as well.
The IMPACT design language and the long list of features has made the Tiago a very appealing proposition in the small hatchback segment. The major chunk of demand is for the top variants of both the petrol and diesel. These models come with all the bells and whistles which includes an 8-speaker infotainment system from Harman, ABS with EBD, Corner Stability Control, steering-mounted audio and telephony controls, etc.
Such is the demand of the vehicle that it commands a waiting period of 4 months on select variants. The Tata Tiago was meant to revive the brand in the minds of the consumers which it has successfully managed to. According to the executives of the company they have been consistently clocking sales of 5000 units a month.
The Tata Tiago is currently manufactured at Tata’s Sanand plant in Gujarat along with the Tata Nano. Tata should consider increasing the production of the Tiago from the current level to cope up with the strong demand for the product. Tata is also lined up with many exciting product launches in the upcoming months. Surely, Tata is back with a bang in the passenger car market!
