Tata Motors has launched the Explorer kit for the Safari Storme, which starts at Rs. 56,800/-. Once you have this kit up and running on your beast, you can safely call your vehicle the Safari Storme Explorer Edition. This kit can be fitted to any Safari Storme variant and consists of add-ons which transform the appeal of the SUV. Tata Motors showcased two different Safari Stormes at the launch event, both of which had some different accessories from the Explorer edition fitted to it.
Some of the features in the Safari Storme Explorer Edition include a 2-din touchscreen infotainment system, sporty door visors, chrome garnish on the headlights and tail lights, nudge guard with powerful lights mounted on them, Explorer badging and decals, rubber mats, air freshner, art leather seat covers and car care care. There is also a refrigerator placed in the rear seat which is not standard in the kit. Additionally you can also opt for a Thule roof rack and a cycle carrier. We are not quite sure if the Tata International Super Sport Flame cycle is part of the Explorer kit.
The Tata Safari was given a thorough update just last year in the form of the Safari Storme, which uses the Aria’s X2 platform. The Explorer Edition is going to amplify the appeal of this vehicle even futher. There are no mechancal changes to the ‘real SUV’ which continues to draw power from a 2.2-litre VariCOR diesel engine, belting out 140 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. The claimed mileage is 14 km/l and the Safari Storme is offered in both 4×2 and 4×4 variants.
