Tata Safari electric version spotted testing for the first time
Tata Motors are preparing to launch the Harrier and Safari electric by next year. Both the SUVs will be launched in a facelifted avatar inspired by the Harrier EV concept showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo.
This Safari electric prototype has been spotted by MotorBeamer Sukruth. He claims that there was no engine sound at all and there were no tail pipes on this test mule. The Indian carmaker is definitely testing the EV version of the SUV.
Visually there will be some styling tweaks including new headlights, no grille design, new bumpers, new alloy wheels and new tail lights. The interior will get minor visual tweaks as we have already seen the new infotainment system and all-digital instrument cluster update recently.
Now those who are waiting for a 4×4 Safari or Harrier will be delighted to know that Tata Motors will introduce an AWD option with their electric SUV. It will come with multiple drive modes and regen modes.
We expect a driving range of 500 km on full charge. Both the electric SUVs are likely to hit the showrooms by the end of 2024.
