In the Safari Dark Edition teaser, Tata has revealed the car’s launch date too
The launch of the Tata Safari Dark Edition is right around the corner and a teaser video of the same has been released online.
To be launched in 3 days’ time (on 18th January 2022), the new edition of the 3-row SUV will come with a black exterior colour, a blacked grille, darker headlamp bezel, dark-coloured alloy wheels, and ‘#Dark’ badge on the outside.
Although the Tata Safari Dark edition teaser video does not reveal it, the same all-black theme will be found inside the car as well. Expect to see a dark-coloured cabin that is likely to also have a dark chrome interior pack.
No changes will be made to the SUV’s equipment list and mechanicals. The Safari Dark edition will come powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel motor making 170 PS and 350 Nm. It will be teamed to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
Tata already sells Dark edition variants of the Altroz, Nexon, Nexon EV and the Harrier. In the case of the Safari, the brand retails Adventure and Gold edition versions of the SUV and with the introduction of the Dark edition, the 3-row vehicle will get 3 special edition models.
As for the price, the Dark edition of the Safari should command a premium of Rs. 30,000/- over the corresponding regular variants. The car is currently priced between Rs. 14.99 lakhs and Rs. 23.20 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
