Tata Punch To Get Digital Cluster As Standard Across All Variants

Tata Punch spotted with digital cluster that will be offered as standard

Tata Motors is gearing up to equip all variants of the Punch with a digital instrument cluster. Spy images reveal that lower variants will boast a 4-inch digital screen, showcasing information such as speed, time, odometer, trip meter, warning lights, etc.

It is the same digital cluster unit which is also offered with the Tata Tiago, Tigor and entry-level variant of the Nexon. The top-spec Creative variant of the Punch will retain the semi-digital instrument cluster, which comes with a more premium display and made its debut with the old versions of Safari and Harrier.

The motive behind the introduction of digital cluster as standard is to compete more aggressively with the Hyundai Exter, which also comes with digital instrument cluster as standard across all variants. Tata Motors is expected to hike the pricing of the Punch marginally with this new addition.

We hope Tata Motors announce some more features with this small update to make it more desirable in the segment. The Punch is currently offered in four trims – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. It is powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 84 BHP and 113 Nm of torque. Available with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT options. It also comes with a CNG variant that produces 76 BHP and 97 Nm of torque, only available with 5-speed manual transmission.

Tata Motors is currently testing the electric variant of the Punch. It will share the powertrain with the Tiago and Tigor EV. The Punch EV is expected to boost the electric car sales of the Indian carmaker.
