Tata Punch electric launch confirmed by the carmaker

Tata Punch electric is confirmed to be in the pipeline, launch expected in Q3 2023. Senior officials of the Indian carmaker have confirmed that the car is in their pipeline.

The micro SUV was launched in the Indian market last year in October 2021. It has gained a lot of popularity across the country and has been churning out good volumes for the country.

Currently, it is being offered with a single 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine option. It produces 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. Available with 5-speed manual transmission or 5-speed AMT.

It is based on the Tata’s Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) architecture. The electric Punch will share the same powertrain with its siblings – Tiago and Tigor electric.

It will be positioned under the Nexon EV in Tata’s electric lineup. Pricing is expected to be similar to the Tigor EV. The micro SUV is likely to offer a range of 250 – 300 km on single charge.

Considering the fact that the Nexon EV has so many takers, there will be a huge audience interested in the Punch EV as well. Tata will have a huge portfolio to cater a wide range of buyers with the Punch electric. Expected to make its debut in the third quarter of 2023.
