Domestic sales in the month of November 2017 sees Tata overtaking Mahindra and Toyota overtaking Honda.

Tata Motors has registered sales of 17,157 passenger cars (including exports) in the month of November 2017 to become the third largest selling carmaker in India. The Indian automaker continues to ride on the success of the Tiago, Tigor, Hexa and the recently launched Nexon.

Car Sales November 2017 –

1) Maruti Suzuki – 1,54,699 units
2) Hyundai – 44,008 units
3) Tata Motors – 17,157 units
4) Mahindra – 16,030 units
5) Toyota – 12,734 units
6) Honda – 11,819 units
7) Renault – 7800 units
8) Ford – 7777 units
9) Nissan – 3976 units
10) Volkswagen – 3426 units
11) Fiat – 2900 units
12) Skoda – 1505 units

Meanwhile, Toyota has outsold Honda and currently is the fifth largest carmaker in India. The company registered sales of 12,734 units with the Etios Liva, Innova and Fortuner raking in the numbers. The Japanese automaker has registered a growth of 13 percent compared to 11,309 units in the same month last year. Honda, on the other hand, managed to sell 12,102 units in the month of November 2017.

In spite of the hike in tax rates for hybrid powered vehicles, Toyota hasn’t increased the prices of the Camry Hybrid, which is, by the way, the flagship product for the company. It believes customers will understand and appreciate the benefits of clean and green-friendly hybrid vehicle technology. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai continue to remain the top two carmakers in India.
