Tata Nexon’s Production Version Unveiled At 2016 Auto Expo [Live]

Tata is all set to take the Indian market by storm with its all new sub-compact SUV Nexon, which was today showcased at the 2016 edition of India’s Auto Expo.

The Tata Nexon looks very attractive

The Nexon, Tata’s first sub 4-meter SUV is a global car which will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport and Mahindra TUV300 to name a few in the highly competitive Indian market. This car is based on the same X1 platform used for the Zest and Bolt. The Nexon follows Tata’s next generation ‘Impact Design’ philosophy and is engineered with inputs from Jaguar Land Rover, which is quite evident from its Evoque-like appearance.

The Nexon, unarguably the most stylish car from Tata’s stable, features a chrome ‘Humanity Line’ on the front grille, projector lamps with LED daytime running lights, floating roofline and LED tail lamps with chrome touches. The 16-inch alloys adds to the styling quotient of the car. The interiors on the Nexon are lifted directly from its cheaper siblings, apart from the new 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 8 speakers. It is also provided with voice control and command recognition features.

The Tata Nexon will be launched with two engine variants in the Indian market – a new 1.5-litre diesel engine which churns out 108.5 HP and a turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol motor which is expected to churn out around 85 PS of power. These engines will be mated to a new 6-speed manual gearbox with three drive modes. The Nexon has a ground clearance of 200 mm which is sufficient enough for most.
