Tata Nexon to get panoramic sunroof soon after Mahindra XUV 3XO launch
Soon after Mahindra introduced the XUV 3XO with the first in segment panoramic sunroof feature, Tata Motors is all set to respond with the same feature in the Nexon. Recently, the compact SUV was spotted with a panoramic sunroof, ready to hit the showrooms.
We believe Tata Motors will officially announce the new variant in the next few days. While the video doesn’t show any other changes in the car, we can expect a couple of more features with this variant.
It will be positioned as the range topping trim of the Nexon, expected to be priced around Rs. 50,000/- more over the regular variant. It is yet to be seen if the panoramic sunroof in the Nexon is bigger than that of the XUV 3XO.
The Tata Nexon is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol produces 120 HP and 170 Nm of torque. It is available with 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters. The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 115 HP and 160 Nm torque, mated to a 6-speed MT or AMT gearbox options.
The Nexon.ev is available with Medium Range and Long Range variants. The electric powertrain in the Medium Range produces 129 HP and 215 Nm torque and in the Long Range version it produces 142 HP and 215 Nm of torque. We can expect the new panoramic sunroof in both ICE and EV variants.
Some of the other features include automatic climate control, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, 360-degree camera, etc.
The Tata Nexon competes with the recently launched Mahindra XUV 3XO along with the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and the likes.
