The spied Tata Nexon long-range EV might be launched along with the Altroz EV soon
Ahead of Tata’s new event slated for 29th April, what could potentially be the brand’s upcoming Nexon EV long-range version has been spied testing again. The image was uploaded by an Instagram user named Srikrishna Murthy Kundurthy. Just a couple of days back, Tata was seen testing its Altroz EV as well.
As of today, Tata is vigoruously readying 2 electric cars – the Altroz EV and the Nexon EV long-range version. In addition, the homegrown brand is also working on an EV named Sliq although no concrete information is available right now.
These 3 aside, during the start of this month, Tata has showcased its Curvv concept that will become the brand’s next midsize SUV coupe.
So, the upcoming event is mostly likely to be a showcase of Tata’s EV prowess while the brand might also reveal new concepts or technologies related to electrification.
The upcoming Nexon EV long-range version reportedly features a big 40 kWh battery pack with a claimed range above 400 km (100 km up from the standard car) and real-work figures easily above 300 km.
The current standard Nexon EV was launched on 28th January, 2020. It gets the company’s Ziptron powertrain that includes a 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor paired with an IP67-certified 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
The motor puts out 127 HP and 245 Nm and comes mated to an automatic transmission. Tata is also offering an 8-year/1.6 lakh km warranty for the electric car which should give peace of mind to the buyers.
The company is also providing a 3.3 kW AC on-board charger and the Nexon EV can be charged up to 80 percent from 0 percent in 60 minutes using a fast charger and to 100 percent from 20 percent using a regular charger in 8 hours.
