Tata Nexon compact SUV will be launched in August this year with a diesel engine being offered first, petrol to arrive later.
Tata’s very first compact SUV, the Nexon will be launched in August 2017. The SUV has been spotted at Trivandrum in Kerala. MotorBeam readers Syam S and Adarsh spotted the SUV and clicked the images for us.
The test mule features 16-inch 5-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels and LED tail-lights. Carrying the IMPACT design language, the Tata Nexon measures 3995 mm in length, 1811 mm in width, 1607 mm in height and sits on a wheelbase of 2498 mm.
The Tata Nexon will also feature automatic climate control, start-stop button, steering mounted audio controls, rear parking camera, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a rear view camera.
Under the hood, Tata will be offering a 1.5-litre diesel engine that is good enough for 110 HP of power and 260 Nm of torque. This powerplant will come paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox. Tata will be offering a diesel motor initially at the time of launch and the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol mill will arrive later.
