Tata Motors has revealed all the connected car features of the electric version of the Nexon.
Tata Motors unveiled the Nexon electric few days back and now the automaker has revealed all the connected car features that this EV will come equipped with. The Tata Nexon EV gets as many as 35 connected car features and customers can use the ZConnect app to use these functions. The vehicle has also got a certified range of 312 kms from ARAI.
ZConnect comes with dedicated EV features like remote monitoring of current charge levels, range, charging history, nearby charging stations, etc. The vehicle also gets remote commands like remote lock/unlock, remote lamp control and remote horn activation. You can also remotely switch on the AC and pre-cool the car before your drive.
Users can also use the app to check various vehicle parameters through a detailed diagnostic report. ZConnect offers location-based services like navigation and in case you’re planning to undertake a road trip, it will show you a list of charging stations on your way. You can also share your live location with friends or family members.
Customers of the Tata Nexon electric will get preferential access to more than 300 charging stations in major metros in India as part of a tie-up with Tata Power. The app also shows users the nearest Tata Motors service centre and also has functionalities for connecting to the customer care for 24×7 technical support and road-side assistance.
ZConnect also has alerts for vehicle health and safety parameters and you can even set a pre-determined custom speed and geo-fencing or time-fence limits. When any of these get breached, you will get a notification on your phone. The app also analyses driver behaviour throughout the journey and gives a scorecard at the end of every trip. It shows insights of harsh braking, harsh acceleration and average speed. Customers can even share their scorecards on social media or with other Nexon EV owners through an in-built community called Tribes.
The Tata Nexon electric will be launched in the next few days and the ZConnect app will go live at the same time. Tata Motors is also gearing up to launch the facelifted version of the regular IC Nexon and we can expect most of these connected car features to be present in the regular variants of the car as well.
The Tata Nexon EV will be available in 3 variants – XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. The XM gets automatic climate control, dual front airbags with ABS and EBD and keyless entry with push button start. The XZ+ gets a dual-tone colour, 16-inch diamond cut alloys, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, reverse camera with park assist and a leather-wrapped steering wheel in addition to the features available on XM. The XZ+ Lux gets a sunroof, leatherette seats, automatic rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlamps.
