Tata Nexon Electric Spied At Plant

The company is moving ahead with its plans to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in India.

The image was taken at the company’s manufacturing plant

The Tata Nexon is one of the popular sub 4-metre SUVs in India. A recent image which has surfaced online shows that Tata could be working on an electric version of the Nexon. The Tata Nexon electric was spied at the company’s manufacturing plant.

The image shared is blurry, which gives a very little scope of identifying. But it is said that Tata is developing a hybrid powertrain from some time now which could also be used in the Nexon. It looks like a regular Nexon, however, the radiator is missing from the vehicle in the image. This could be a possibility for it to be a completely electric vehicle using the tech powering the company’s Tigor EV.

Tata Motors had recently showcased their Altroz EV at the Geneva Motor Show. The Altroz EV will be powered by a Permanent Magnet AC Motor and will come with a single speed gearbox. The Altroz EV is estimated to have a driving range of 200-230 kms per charge cycle. The automaker is also working on a connected vehicle solution platform which is expected to be a part of all the electric vehicles which the company would introduce in future.

Coming to the company’s plans, they are already working on improving their electric product range and will introduce more electric vehicles. It also includes the development of an H2X-based small electric SUV. This also clears the air if the company is actually looking to electrify the Nexon for sale in India. With the FAME II policy coming in soon, most manufacturers are now pushing towards hybrid or electric technologies.
