The EngageNEXT iSourcing agreement will see a collaboration between both the Tata owned companies in order to avoid duplication of work and improve utilisation of resources.
In a bid to enhance mutual strengths and priorities, Tata Motors and Tata Technologies have announced the EngageNEXT iSourcing agreement for a period of five years. The new agreement will not only be beneficial for the companies, but will also offer significant career benefits to employees of both organisations. Under EngageNEXT iSourcing, employees of Tata Technologies including designers, engineers and consultants working on Tata Motors’ programs will now be working under a new ‘delivery based’ model instead of the current staff augmentation model.
The new EngageNEXT platform will see Tata Technologies’ expertise in the automotive engineering space coming into play during the execution of major automotive programs including whole vehicle development. The system will also create a new work environment that helps optimise mutual capabilities, realise cost efficiencies, streamline workflows and accelerate development cycles on upcoming vehicles for Tata Motors’ R&D Division. The move has been made in order to fulfil the automaker’s ambitious plans under the HorizoNEXT platform that promises a host of new products in the coming years.
Through the new EngageNEXT model, Tata Technologies will be responsible for delivery against defined performance metrics like quality, cost and timeliness. Tata further stated that its technology division has been instrumental in helping the company’s Engineering Research Centre (ERC) optimise its R&D function and the new model will only take those capabilities further. Moreover, the new work flow will see clearly defined roles for both the companies and will deliver mutually agreed upon engineering activities, reduce duplication of work, help plan investments, utilise employees more effectively and help reduce costs for the company.
