With a major change in the top management of Tata Motors, the company is now becoming aggressive, launching updates to its existing line-up. This week saw Tata Motors launch the Indigo Manza Club Class, Safari Storme and Aria 4×4 Pure LX. Now India’s third largest car maker has turned its attention to its most important product, the Nano. The company has launched a special edition Nano, just in time for the upcoming festive season. This special edition is available right away, but not in all states of India.
Tata Motors is selling the special edition Nano only in the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Karnataka, Gujarat, Goa, Kerala, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim and West Bengal. The Tata Nano special edition is offered in limited numbers and offers extra fittings worth Rs. 25,000/- for the same price as the regular Nano. This makes the special edition completely worth it but buyers are not going to get discounts prevalent on the regular variants of the Nano.
The additional features on the special edition Tata Nano include – body graphics, Special Edition sticker, alloy wheels, left and right side glove box and 2-speaker audio system (with MP3, iPod, USB and Aux compatibility). Tata Motors will launch a higher variant of the Nano in the future which might get few of these features as standard equipment. The special edition Nano is available in 6 colors, which are already available on the CX and LX variants. Could this special edition curb the falling sales of the world’s cheapest car, which sold just 5491 units last month?
