Tata Motors released a new video today asking viewers to “Don’t Just Aspire”.
Ford India launched the Aspire facelift in India today and just now Tata Motors have released a new video on their official YouTube channel teasing the 2018 Tigor that is going to be launched in the next few days.
What caught our eye was the beginning of the teaser video where it has been written boldy, “Don’t Just Aspire”. Co-incidence? I don’t think so because in the font that has been used for the word Aspire, look closely and you’ll notice hints of the F from the Ford logo.
Tata Motors launched the Tigor in early 2017 and the compact sedan hasn’t sold in really high numbers which is probably why the automaker is launching an update of the car so soon. Meanwhile, the Aspire hasn’t been a runaway success either but it is known for its fun to drive nature. It is also worth noting that the Tigor gets a 1.05-litre diesel engine with 69 HP while the Aspire has a 1.5-litre engine producing 99 HP.
We’re not sure how Ford is going to respond to this but we’ve generally seen luxury carmakers resorting to such wars very often globally. Bookings for the Tigor facelift have commenced already and the car will be launched on 10th Oct while the Aspire, launched today, has been priced attractively from Rs. 5.55 lakhs (ex-showroom).
