The Tata Kite 5 has been spotted under test and the vehicle is going to be launched in India towards the end of 2016. It will replace the Indigo eCS.
Tata Motors showcased the Kite 5 sedan (likely to be called Sway) at the recent 2016 Auto Expo and the vehicle garnered a lot of buzz. The Kite 5 is based on the Tiago and the vehicle has been spotted undergoing testing without any sort of camouflage. What is also interesting is the fact that the vehicle is seen in a new colour this time.
The Kite 5 shares a lot of exterior components with the Tiago except the tail lights and the large boot lid. The front fascia looks familiar while the side profile has a curvy touch to it. The boot also has curvy styling and the Kite 5 also shares its alloy wheels with the Tiago, unlike the model that was shown at the Auto Expo.
The insides of the Kite 5 will again have a lot of parts borrowed from the Tiago. Tata Motors will be loading the car with a lot of features and the compact sedan is expected to come with a 5-inch infotainment system along with 8 speakers and GPS navigation. The Kite 5 will also boast of an excellent boot space of 420-litres.
The Tata Kite 5 will be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 85 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque while a 1.05-litre diesel engine producing 69 HP of power and 140 Nm of torque will also be offered. The Kite 5 will compete in the compact sedan space and this segment has been gaining a lot of popularity in recent times.
