Tata Hexa Parts Being Imported As Testing To Start Soon

Tata Hexa Concept

Tata has started importing parts for the Tata Hexa from South Korea. Import records suggest parts have been imported for fifteen units meant for testing purposes.

Except for the front end, it is difficult to find similarities with the Aria

Tata Motors has been planning a lineup revamp with updates to current cars like the Safari Storme as well as new launches like the Hexa crossover. Displayed at the Geneva Motor Show this year, the Tata Hexa is scheduled for a launch later this year. With only six months in the year remaining, testing the SUV is of utmost importance for the Indian carmaker. The company has started importing parts for manufacturing the test vehicles and conducting various tests on Indian roads as well as on its own test track. Before the launch, most of the parts are expected to be localised in order to price the vehicle aggressively.

Although the Hexa is based on the Aria platform, the former looks nowhere close to the latter in terms of design except for the basic shape. The exterior design is much more aggressive and will appeal to a wider audience. The interiors too get a complete revamp lending a luxurious yet functional feel. Soft touch materials and leather upholstery up the premiumness by a few notches. The upgraded engine will boost the crossover’s performance while the four-wheel drive system with Terrain Response feature will help it tackle the worst of roads and let the owners have a bit of fun off-roading with the vehicle.

Elements such as projector headlamps, LED DRLs, nice looking alloy wheels and body cladding on the lower half make the Tata Hexa crossover look more in line with the times. Powering the beast would be a 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 diesel engine producing 154 BHP of power and 400 Nm of torque. Chances of a 6-speed automatic transmission featuring in the car are very high given how popular automatic transmission cars are in the segment and there aren’t many options. The Terrain Response system is derived from Land Rover’s system which should ensure that it performs well. On the safety front, ABS, ESP and six airbags are likely to feature in some variants which will ensure reasonable safety for all passengers.

Six comfortable seats for adults could be the Hexa’s USP
