Tata Motors displayed their newest MPV at the recent 2016 Auto Expo as well as the Geneva Motor Show and the vehicle is going to be launched in India in June 2016.
As a part of their HORIZONEXT strategy, Tata Motors will be launching two new products every fiscal. In 2016-17, the automaker is going to launch two products after the Tiago. The first one is going to be the Hexa MPV that will be launched in June while the Nexon compact SUV will be launched during the later part of the year.
The Tata Hexa will be replacing the Aria which didn’t sell well due to pricing and styling issues. The Hexa comes with a new and fresh design which looks modern and has a lot of appeal to it too. The vehicle looks sporty and tough and the interiors also carry a rich feel. Being a Tata, we can expect the Hexa to be very spacious and comfortable too.
Under the hood, the Tata Hexa has a 2.2-litre Varicor diesel engine that also powers the Safari Storme. It belts out 154 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Tata Motors will also offer AWD as an option with the Hexa. The MUV is going to be loaded with features like automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system and a Terrain Management System.
The Tata Hexa is a very significant product for the automaker and looking at the first impressions, we think it does have the ability to sell well and a create a mark in the segment. We’ll have to wait for the prices to be announced in June and only then we’ll know who’s boss between the Hexa and the new Toyota Innova.
