Tata Hexa Interiors With Terrain Management Selector Snapped

The Tata Hexa gets a comprehensively updated cabin and gets the new Terrain Management system that comes from Land Rover.

The Terrain Management selector has 3 modes – Auto, Comfort & Dynamic

In its final stages of testing ahead of the Auto Expo debut, Tata Motors has made sure to comprehensively update the new Hexa so that the model wouldn’t meet the same fate as its predecessor. While the exteriors will closely resemble the concept model, the interiors on the new model were recently caught on camera as the test mule was spotted in Kolhapur, Maharashtra showing a host of details including the new Terrain Management System.

Tata Motors has retained the overall layout from the Aria on the new Hexa but the equipment, material and switchgear has been completely revamped. The three-spoke multi-function steering wheel comes from the Zest and is now standard across all new Tata cars. The air-vents are new as well while the instrument cluster houses two large pods along with an MID unit in the centre. Most noticeable is the new touchscreen infotainment system that will come from Harman and will be loaded with all connectivity options along with navigation.

Further, you can spot the new Terrain Management selector on the lower section of the centre console. The knob replaces the conventional gearshift lever and will give the option to choose between Auto, Comfort and Dynamic suspension settings. The terrain management system is said to be derived from Land Rover with Hexa being the first Tata model to get the feature as and option.

In terms of powertrain, the 2016 Tata Hexa will be using a 2.2-litre Varicor 400 diesel engine tuned for 156 PS and 400 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Other salient bits on the Hexa will include projector headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, ORVM integrated turn indicators, spacious interiors and a whole lot more. The model will also be offered in a rear wheel drive guise on the base variants which should enable a competitive asking price.
