The Tata Hexa comes with more beefed up styling that will be carried over on the production model expected to be revealed next year.
Originally revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year, new images of the Tata Hexa concept have emerged online giving a better glimpse of the SUV concept on road. Essentially a re-styled Aria, the Hexa showcases several elements that will eventually trickle down on future Tata SUVs and crossovers and also previews what the Aria successor would look like as it will rival the Mahindra XUV500 as well as higher variants of the Scorpio, Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta.
Massive in proportions, the Tata Hexa concept measures 4764 mm in length, 1895 mm in width and 1780 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2850 mm. In terms of styling, the concept features some extremely striking lines like the large grille up front, restyled bonnet with sharp creases and black lower body cladding for an aggressive appeal. At the rear, the horizontally stacked tail lights look modern and the diffuser with twin exhausts look aggressive.
The Tata Hexa concept comes with dual-tone finished interiors, touchscreen infotainment system and 3-spoke steering wheel with piano black surrounds, all of which are reminiscent of the new Zest and Bolt models. Further, the concept pack in a host of equipment including projector lamps, LED DRLs, 19-inch alloy wheels, auto function wiper, 6-seat configuration, captain seats in the second row, ambient lighting, leather upholstery and much more. In terms of safety, the Hexa is loaded with six airbags, ABS, ESP among other tech.
In terms of power, the Tata Hexa concept uses a 2.2-litre four-cylinder VARICOR diesel motor producing 154.2 HP at 4000 RPM and 400 Nm of torque available between 1700-2700 RPM, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox while a 6-speed automatic is also said to be on the cards. There will also be a 4WD system on offer as optional with the Terrain Response feature. In concept form, the Tata Hexa definitely has appeal and most elements are expected to make it the production model that could be showcased as early as next year.
