The Tata HBX has been spotted in production-ready guise, equipped with alloy wheels and proper lighting units, recently.
Spotted by MotorBeamer Apar, the micro SUV’s front profile has not been covered in camouflaging material, unlike the sheet metal, thus providing us a clear picture of how the finished product’s “face” will look like.
The Tata Harrier-inspired design of the HBX’s front end will help set it apart from its competitors such as the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV100 NXT.
Above the main lights sit the DRLs that are connected by a chrome trim piece, while below, there is a sizeable air dam flanked by fog lamps.
Tata has gone for a rugged look for the HBX and has hence left the entire bottom portion of the car’s exterior cladded in black-coloured plastic trim. Even the bumpers are not painted in body colour.
All of the pillars come painted in black, providing the “floating roof” effect. Also, the roof will not only be painted in body colour, but will be offered in other contrasting shades as well, for the recently spotted Tata HBX had a contrasting white roof.
While these recent spy shots only show us the micro SUV’s exterior, its interior has been spied already. Like, the exterior, the interior styling of the HBX will also stay true to original concept vehicle shown at the 2020 Auto Expo, barring a few details.
Features like a “floating” touchscreen, multifunction steering wheel, smartphone connectivity tech, navigation, and the like should all be offered in the top-spec variant, to say the least.
Expected to enter the market this year, the HBX, which could be officially named the Timero, is likely to come with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and 5-speed manual gearbox and AMT options.
