Tata Harrier XT & XT+ Dark Edition Launched, Priced From Rs. 16.50 Lakhs

Comes with a completely blacked-out look

Tata has launched the Harrier XT Dark Edition with a price tag of Rs. 16.5 lakhs and the XT+ Dark Edition at Rs. 17.30 lakhs (prices ex-showroom).

The Dark Edition versions of the XT and XT+ variants are Rs. 10,000/- costlier than their counterparts that come with different colours.

As the name suggests, the SUV’s Dark Edition models come completely blacked-out. The headlamp bezel, door handles, alloy wheels and skid plates all come in black.

But there are some differences to the top-spec Dark Edition model and the XT variant like the omission of chrome trim at the front and rear and lower part of the windows. The upper window chrome garnish stays in place.

Inside, the black theme continues and silver trim sits in place of the wood trim on the dashboard.

Features-wise, the Tata Harrier XT Dark Edition price will get customers a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push button start, automatic climate control, auto headlamps, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, among many others.

Another thing to note here is that the introductory pricing of the normal XT+ variant has come to an end. Tata had said that come October the price of the variant will increase and now, the retail cost of XT+ is Rs. 17.20 lakhs (ex-showroom), Rs. 21,000/- costlier.

Engine-wise, the 2.0-litre diesel that develops 170 PS and 350 Nm comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox in the new variants.

It is always good to witness manufacturers looking closely at what the market wants and respond immediately. By extending the Dark Edition models, to lower trims, Tata has done just that and in the nick of time too as the festive season is here.
