The number of Tata Harrier variants is set to increase, with the addition of two more variants, one each for the manual and automatic versions.
The new variants, namely the XT+ and XTA will further lengthen the already extensive variant list offered on the SUV.
The Tata Harrier XT+ variant would be priced above the XT variant that costs Rs. 16.25 lakhs (ex-showroom). It could get a panoramic sunroof, apart from a few other options.
Addition of the XTA variant will be above the base XMA variant and below the XZA variant and could bridge the massive Rs. 2.6 lakhs price difference between the two. Also, the additional automatic variant might miss out on the sunroof.
However, this latest development is only speculative and there is no concrete proof to support its cause. We will have to wait and see how Tata Harrier variants are spaced.
The SUV comes with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 170 HP and 350 Nm and as mentioned above, comes with both manual and automatic options. Both gearboxes are 6-speed and the automatic unit is sourced from Hyundai.
Also, Tata is said to be gearing up to launch a 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor with the Harrier this festive season. Roots of the mill can be be traced to the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine.
It is expected to produce over 150 HP and might also power the Gravitas 7-seater when it gets launched. Paddle shifters and drive modes will also be offered with it.
